If I were hiring someone, it would definitely be a mother. There is no one else on earth who can handle anything that come at them without blinking an eye. That is why China is training female astronauts and requiring that they be mothers! Nobody is as tough, versatile, patient, intuitive, able to problem solve and be creative. Space walks are a cake walk compared to the physical and emotional strain of child birth and the first three months of the child's life and that is only with one child!
This is why I think being a mother should increase a woman's opportunities and pay. It's time to break the glass ceiling to give more women the chance to lead and show what they can do.
In Spain, Prime Minister Zapatero placed a seven month pregnant Carme Chacon as the minister of defense. At first one would think that doesn't make sense, but imagine how tough and efficient she will be. Carme will manage her time and military like no man has ever done and it will be with a more humanistic feel. Once you have given life, it is so hard to imagine taking life. It will be interesting to follow her progress.
Time to go change a diaper and prepare a bottle. Until the next time.
